To ensure you're aware of the relevant processes to set up an API, you can view the extended technical guidance here.
To utilize the API (as a new feature), there typically needs to be someone on your team who is comfortable working with APIs in their own environment and available to implement the API (as our team isn't able to write custom code in an environment that isn't Allegrow).
1. Ensure that you're logged into the Admin account for Allegrow as an initial step.
2.Select 'Settings' in the bottom left-hand corner of the navigation pane on your Allegrow account.
3. Select API Keys from the top row of options of your settings.
4. Select 'Create API Key' in the top right-hand corner of the API Keys screen.
5. Complete the relevant information requested for the API Key creation. We would recommend naming the API Key as such that you recall what the API Key has been generated for.

For example, if you're creating this key for inbound form fills, we would recommend naming the key 'Incoming Form Fills' or for newsletter sign ups, 'Newsletter Sign Up'.

Once you've done this, select 'Crate API Key'.
*The Webhook URL is used for async validation results and only needs to be completed if you're opting for this set-up in line with our guidance here.
6. Once your API key has been generated, you'll be able to view the API Key ID as well as the API Key itself.

βSave the API key securely, as you will only be able to view this once, and it will not be shown again.
7. Now that the API key has been generated, we would recommend following the guidance here to complete the set-up and roll out of the API for the Safety Net.
