How to utilise automation in Salesloft for custom fields

How to set up automation inside of your Salesloft instance to either enter a new sequence or create a task.

Before you can set up automation in Salesloft for your Safety Net custom fields you must have first carried out the relevant integration here as well as enabled your custom fields in Salesloft and Allegrow using our guidance here.

Utilising automation inside of Salesloft can help you manage the preventions made by the Safety Net in Allegrow and utilise them further to help with your overall outbound motion.

When a prevention has been made by the Safety Net you may want to automate movement into another sequence or create a task for the contact owner.

You can follow our guidance here to set these up:

1) Log into your Salesloft Admin account.

2) Navigate to the Settings, then select Automation Rules under Data.

3) From the Automation Rules page, click Create New Rule.

4) Name your rule - for example, "Allegrow SN Automation - DoNotMail".

5) From the Trigger dropdown, you can then select 'Person Updates'. You'll then want to select the radio button underneath outlining the Trigger.

6) Set the criteria as "Allegrow Risk Analysis". You can then use the 'equals' field to outline which prevention you would like to move. We would recommend selecting the Custom field that you have preselected using our guidance here to update following Safety Net prevention.

You can select a prevention code from the list below and copy and paste this inside the relevant field.

  • block_bounce_risk

  • spamtrap

  • some_risk

  • do_not_mail_abuse

  • dead_email

  • safe

7) From the Action dropdown, you can then personalize the action that you wish to take based on the prevention and our comprehensive guidance here. Some suggestions could be

  • do_not_mail_abuse: move this prospect into a sequence that only has call and LinkedIn steps with no email steps.

  • block_bounce_risk: set a task for the prospect owner to find a new contact or to enrich the data before reaching out to them

8) Once you've decided on the action, you can then set the automation live and this will work alongside and complement the Allegrow Safety Net.

Things to Note: If you would like the Automation Rule to go into effect immediately, click the Use the Enable rule after saving toggle before saving. When the toggle area is blue, the setting is on.
